last Sunday i watched a conversation on YouTube with #Pedromacloureiro and #nina_sketching about sketching. They gave fantastic tips and launched a challenge: drawing the path we take at home with a cup of coffee in hand. I loved the idea and this drawing came out. To better mark the path I used the color only on the coffee mug and the rest of the drawing was black and white. Despite having used arrows to show the way, there is no need to do it with this technique of highlighting the main character, which in this case is the coffee mug.
Everyone should watch the YouTube video https://youtube.com/watch?v=EnFloEvrlys&feature=share and get to know the fantastic work of these two great sketchers. Pedro macloureiro is Portuguese and nina_sketching is Swedish, and I really like their work. They are really engaged on sketching and everyone can watch their sketching vídeos no YouTube . I invite you to discover these two. Enjoy
Even I can’t go out, I steel have a lot to sketch partcipating in different challenges around the world of URban sketchers associations. Here goes my sketches made confined at home.
The three next sketches are the challenge of #Uskmilano , in the beguining of the week, where we draw what we see from our windows.
Than I was challenged by Uskportugal on their challenge #quarentenadesenhada that means #sketchedquarantine and did these next two sketches
This above, was sketched after I found a box at my pantry with some art materials from the 80’s and 90’s ! That box was there closed for 18 years. Since I moved from Lisbon to where I live now. I had to sketch them because they are 30 and 40 years hold! How come I became Vintage too?
Still on the #quarentenadesenhada I sketched myself after I made a huge mistake, cutting my hair with my dog’s hair trimmer. It sounded a good idea 💡… Strange things we do when in confinement. Now I have a bald area on the back of my neck.
Above, portuguese confort food on an uncomfortable confinement. “Feijoada” is red beans , pork meat , chourizo and carots.
Finally another challenge from #uskportugal to sketch the sky in three different day time.
This is all for today. Hope you like it and share. Thanks
we went sketching at a beautiful village of workers at Lisbon named Villa Bertha and this is my sketching gear of the day.
After we went to a belvedere at another place of Lisbon I managed to guest some help from a tuk tuk driver who offered himself to hold my sketchbook for the photo 👏#10 anos dos USKPortugaland this sketch was baptized with drops of rain and 🍻 beer that was turned off by the wind. Well, everything can happen on the wild 😜.#10 anos dos USKPortugal
Those are my pomegranates from my front yard lost on the Algarve hillsthe litle church of Cachopo- Tavira at the Praia-Verde beach after a visit to a village near by. Was so hot and I needed fresh air.what better to eat on a hot, hot day. This is real Portuguese summer food and I so love it lost on the hills with my litle dog I sat and sketch the view
I finally got this sketchbook on my hands, after being sold out everywhere online. I want it so badly that I wrote to mr. Stillman on Facebook and asked him to put it back available at Amazon or eBay or anywhere else and he answered me ! He advised me a French online shop where they have some sketchbooks available. Great, a shop on the same continent as me! So now I have three of these sketchbooks to fill with daily sketches. Yay! They are Beta series, premium sketchbooks, dry and wet media, watercolor and ink , soft cover and they are square. Paper inside is high quality for watercolors (270 gsm), cold press which makes a wonderful soft texturized surface paper , I love it. The square format ( 19x19cm ; 7 1/2 x 7 1/2 inches) it’s a lovely compromise between an A4 and an A5 sketchbook, it allows you to compose different sketches on the same page , something I couldn’t do on a A5 format.
At Sintra on a beautiful cool day. I walked almost 2 km just to sketch that castle, onlypossible because was such a fresh day.
